30 members of staff and customers at Leeds and Hamilton based bank first direct will be braving the physical challenges of completing the London Marathon this weekend to raise over £60,000 for the bank’s partner charity, Childline. This will bring the total amount raised by first direct for the charity in the last four years to over £4m.

This year first direct call centre staff based in Leeds and Hamilton will once again take the NSPCC's 'Letter from Santa' Campaign calls.  With all hands to the phones, the bank's CEO, Mark Mullen, stepped in and took some of the calls himself1. In 2010 the scheme raised a massive £1.3million and this year's target is £1.6million.
