first direct to unveil multi-surface touch screen applications at Grand Design Village

20 Apr 2009

first direct today announced their involvement in Microsoft Surface's biggest public outing to date at this year's Grand Designs Live.   Based on the hugely successful Channel 4 TV series, the award winning event for home design, innovation and inspiration will be at ExCeL London from the 25th April - 4th May.  Across the ten days thousands of members of the general public will access the interactive tabletop at the first direct sponsored Grand Village - www.granddesignslive.com/village.

The Surface's will be used to promote how first direct 's offset Mortgage product has the flexibility to enable homeowners to bring their own Grand Design ideas to life using fun and interactive content.

The Microsoft Surface technology enables first direct 's product to be promoted in an
innovative setting, allowing users to interact directly with the material and personalise the experience to match their own circumstances.  Details such as current account balance, offset savings and mortgage variables can be updated live, instantly showing the impressive savings that are afforded by the mortgage product.

Lisa Wood at first direct commented: 'Often consumers get overwhelmed by mortgage information and confused by all the different options. The Microsoft Surface is offering the public a user friendly, fun and incredibly engaging way to find out how our offset Mortgages can save them money.'

Splendid worked with MadeByPi, first direct 's digital agency, on the design of the application and Story, Edinburgh based marketing agency, who worked on the messaging for the event which has also influenced the application.
