first direct sponsors NSPCC's active events in 2013

In 2013 first direct will sponsor the NSPCC's active events including The Great North Run, Ride London 100 and The London to Brighton Challenge.  The £30,000 sponsorship deal will see the direct bank's logo featured on all NSPCC promotional materials that relate to active events including running vests, t-shirts, good luck cards, thank-you certificates and welcome packs. 

NSPCC Head of Corporate Partnerships, Chris Jarrett said: 

"We're delighted that first direct has chosen to sponsor the NSPCC's active events this year. Active events are a huge part of our fundraising calendar, and first direct 's support will help us to continue to protect vulnerable children across the UK.  Whether it is marathon running, or taking part in a bike ride, there is an event for everyone so we hope to see lots of first direct staff and customers getting involved this year!" 

In addition to the sponsorship announcement first direct would also like to offer its customers the chance to apply to join 56,000 people for the world's most iconic half marathon, the Great North Run taking place on Sunday 15 September 2013.  The direct bank has 10 guaranteed places available and successful applicants will be asked to pay a £20 application fee and must pledge to raise £400 for ChildLine. first direct has agreed to match the participant's £400, helping them to raise a total of £800 for the worthy cause.  Applications should be made before 15 May via the NSPCC's page.
