first direct is voted the best bank for current accounts

07 Jul 2014

uSwitch has announced that first direct has come top in 8 out of 9 categories1 in its 2014 Current Account Awards, based on votes from over 10,000 current account customers.

The online and telephone bank, recently named Best Banking Brand by Which? And Most Trusted Financial Provider by Moneywise, ranked top in the Best Current Account; Best Overall Satisfaction; Most Recommended; Most Trusted; Best Switching Service; Best Customer Service; Best Value for Money and  Best Online Service categories1 in uSwitch's poll.

Tracy Garrad, CEO of first direct commented:

“It’s fantastic to receive such an accolade from a well-respected source like uSwitch.

“We launched 25 years ago with the customer at the heart of our business and it’s great to receive independent confirmation that this continues to be the case.”

uSwitch said in its recent press release:

“With seven in ten consumers now trusting their current account provider2, banks and building societies may finally be winning over the hearts and minds of customers. uSwitch.com, the independent price comparison and switching service, shines the light on the providers who have been successful and those who have failed to secure the consumer vote, in a survey of over 10,000 current account customers.

“The success story is nowhere more evident than with online and phone-based bank, first direct , whose commitment to service and experience has once again wowed customers and secured its first place in eight out of nine categories1
