first direct brings Jake Bugg and special guests

On Sunday 19 October, festival favourite Jake Bugg will bring his distinctive blend of indie, rock and folk to the first direct arena in Leeds in an exclusive event, presented by venue sponsor first direct .

The gig marks the Leeds-based bank’s 25th anniversary and the first birthday of first direct arena, bringing Jake Bugg and an expected sell-out crowd to Leeds.

Irish folk pop duo Hudson Taylor will be supporting Bugg at the event, as well as Leeds-based Indie band Skinny Living in their biggest gig to date, having recently been signed to XXXX.

As part of the the ‘unexpected’ bank’s 25th anniversary celebrations, first direct will also unveil its newly-designed arena bar on the night, as it reopens to the public having been re-designed by interior design graduate Kyle Minnock.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s event, first direct  Chief Executive Tracy Garrad said:  “This special event marks a new stage in what has already been a fantastic partnership sponsoring first direct arena. We’re extremely excited to bring Jake Bugg to Leeds, as part of our 25th anniversary celebrations, giving music fans a unique chance to see an artist at the top of his game in the world’s best new venue. 

“Jake Bugg is the first in a series of 'first direct presents' events which we hope will give as many people as possible the opportunity to enjoy an evening of fantastic music, from international artists to local talent who are starting to make their names in the music world too.”

Bugg’s first direct  arena show follows a summer of playing the UK’s biggest festivals - Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds to name but a few - and the release of his second album, Shangri La.

Fans can expect to hear hits like Two Fingers, Seen It All, and Taste It, as well as What Doesn’t Kill You and new single There’s A Beast And We All Feed It.
