first direct are shortlisted for two Business Charity Awards

05 May 2010

first direct has been shortlisted for two Business Charity Awards including 'Challenge Team' for its Big Bike Ride for ChildLine and its  Head of Corporate and Social Leadership, Michaela Wright, has also been nominated for the closely contested 'Outstanding Individual' award.

The aim of the inaugural awards, launched this year by Third Sector and the Institute of Fundraising, is to recognise the contribution made to charity work and the voluntary sector by the UK business community and to spread knowledge of good practice and new ideas in business-charity partnerships.

Third Sector is the UK's leading publication for everyone who needs to know what's going on in the voluntary and not-for-profit sector and offers unrivalled coverage of the whole range of voluntary sector concerns through the printed magazine, the website, and a range of conferences and events.

The list for the 15 categories was compiled after the judging panel, a group of 13 senior figures from charities and businesses, considered more than 60 entries at a meeting in London.

The winners of the awards, sponsored by Mandate Communications and the Charities Aid Foundation, will be announced at a ceremony on Wednesday 30 June.
